Police Lay Murder Charge Over Fatal Babonneau Shooting

Saint Lucia police have laid a murder charge over the fatal shooting of Darius Anthony Camille-Augustin alias ‘Lucky’. The twenty-three-year-old succumbed after sustaining a gunshot injury to the chest on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Balata, Babonneau. According to the police release, on Sunday, September 8, 2024, they arrested thirty-four-year-old Ashton Deedan Noel of Ti Morne, Union. On Friday, September 13, 2024, investigators formally cautioned and charged Noel with murder. Following a bail application before the Magistrates’ Court, he was remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility.
