Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at Cul de Sac on Saturday, resulting in injury to a man in his twenties from the same area. A private vehicle conveyed the victim to the hospital after a bullet, allegedly fired by a known individual, grazed his head. The incident, near a bar at about 12:40 pm, added to an alarming surge in gun violence that has prompted calls for harsher penalties for gun crimes. On Friday, pedestrians near the New Village entrance on Chaussee Road, Castries, were shocked to hear the sound of gunfire. Eyewitnesses told St. Lucia Times that around 4:30 p.m., a lone gunman opened fire on another man, injuring him. The assailant attempted to flee toward the Anglican Primary School but was apprehended by a police officer who fired several rounds.
