Polo Ralph Lauren is honoring the legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) along with the Oak Bluffs community in Martha’s Vineyard with its newest collection and campaign. According to Essence, the renowned fashion label has revitalized its partnership with Morehouse and Spelman Colleges, unveiling HBCU-themed collegiate designs in the fresh Oak Bluffs line. This unique collection acknowledges the profound history of Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, a cherished sanctuary for the Black community. Contributions from alumni of Morehouse and Spelman were integral to the collection’s design, which Ralph Lauren, Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, articulates as a narrative of the American dream. "This collection represents more than a picturesque locale; it embodies a quest for genuine happiness and belonging," Lauren stated. Launching on Thursday, July 24, this collection will be complemented by the documentary “A Portrait of the American Dream: Oak Bluffs,” and a special event at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival on August 8. The collection can be found on the Ralph Lauren website, select retail locations, and Follett campus bookstores. (Photo: Ralph Lauren)
