Unifying Voices: The Black Church and Black Press Collaborate to Uplift Black America

Nashville, TN — July 25, 2025: In a groundbreaking announcement, a consortium comprising prominent Black faith organizations and the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) revealed a cooperative initiative aimed at addressing systemic inequities affecting African American communities across the nation. This partnership is spearheaded by Dr. Boise Kimber, President of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.; Bishop J. Drew Sheard of the Church of God in Christ; Dr. Samuel Tolbert, President of the National Baptist Convention of America; and Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis Jr., a seasoned civil rights advocate and NNPA President. “This alliance signifies our shared strength and purpose,” Dr. Kimber asserted. Historically, African American communities have battled persistent disparities in healthcare, education, and economic opportunities.
