The esteemed Clark Sisters, a five-member Grammy Award-winning gospel ensemble, took center stage at the annual Together We Sing concert. Hosted by Project Unity, this event aimed to foster community cohesion and was held at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center on June 18. The theme for this year’s celebration was “A Night of Hope and Inspiration.”
Originating from Detroit, Michigan, the Clark Sisters have significantly influenced gospel music since the 1960s, echoing the legacy of their mother, Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. Siblings Jacky, Twinkie, Karen, and Dorinda dazzled the audience with beloved tracks like “Living This Kind of Life” and “Blessed and Highly Favored.”
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Leon Lacey, provided the musical accompaniment, while the Project Unity Choir enriched the performance with harmonious vocals. Richie Butler, Project Unity's visionary leader, emphasized that the event transcends mere concert—it's a cultural celebration, uniting hearts through music.
