Rodent poop, ‘black residue,’ rotten lettuce: Madison County’s worst restaurant health scores

Huntsville, we have a rodent poop problem. Four restaurants that scored 84 or below when they were visited by a Madison County health inspector in February were cited for “rodent feces,” according to county Health Department data. Restaurants scoring 84 or below have to be reinspected within 60 days. Eighteen establishments in Madison County have scores of 84 and below. Here they are, in order of highest to lowest score: Chevron Express II 7551 Wall Triana Hwy., Madison Score: 84 Inspection date: Feb. 14 A spicy chicken sandwich was kept at improper temperatures. The interior ice machine had residue and a bottle of chemicals did not have a label. Envy Entertainment & Restaurant 200-J Oakwood Ave., Huntsville Score: 84 Inspection date: Feb. 15 The ice machine and the bar nozzles had buildup. Paper towels and soap were missing at several sinks. Chemical bottles were not properly labeled. Juhi Food Mart 5208-A Moores Mill Rd., Huntsville Score: 83 Inspection date: Feb. 8 Rodent feces were discovered in cabinets and throughout the storage room where soda syrups were being stored.
