Following a defeat to the Dominican Republic in their first match on Tuesday, Saint Lucia showed resilience on Wednesday, securing a 3-1 victory against Guyana at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex. Their next challenge is against Trinidad & Tobago.The match began with Guyana's Shemar Britton, the leading player in the English-speaking Caribbean, triumphing over Saint Lucia's second-ranked player, Manie Eleuthere, with a score of 3-0 (13-11, 11-4, 11-7). However, Saint Lucia's top player, DeAndre Calderon, equalized by defeating Jonathan Van Lange 3-1 (7-11, 11-2, 11-8, 11-4). Joshua Lubin then gave Saint Lucia the lead by beating Niran Bissu 3-1 (11-4, 7-11, 11-5, 11-6). Ultimately, Calderon triumphed over Britton in a closely contested match, winning 3-1 (17-15, 10-12, 11-9, 11-9). On Tuesday, Saint Lucia faced a 3-0 loss against the Dominican Republic, with Eleuthere, Calderon, and Lubin each falling to their opponents. Trinidad & Tobago experienced a 3-0 loss to Cuba but managed to defeat Jamaica 3-1.
