Saint Lucia is set to host the 2027 CARIFTA Aquatics Championships, as confirmed during the CARIFTA Congress in Trinidad and Tobago. The National Aquatic Centre's construction begins shortly in Beausejour, Gros Islet, with an anticipated completion within 18 months, ensuring readiness for Easter 2027. With a remarkable 12 medals at the prior championship, President Eddie Hazell notes this team will be the largest yet. He emphasizes collaboration among the government, swimming community, and private sector to successfully facilitate this major event for over 1,000 participants.
