Over 25 students from Saint Lucia were part of the 2,785 graduates celebrated during Monroe University's 92nd Annual Commencement, which recently took place in New York City. Although the Castries campus typically conducts local ceremonies in October, nearly 30 students journeyed to New York to partake in this significant event at the renowned Radio City Music Hall. Notable attendees included Sean Edward, Minister of Education, and Neal Fontenelle, Principal of St. Mary’s College. Faculty members from the Castries campus, including Dean of Academics Dr. Ernest Ottley, were also present. The ceremony held unique significance as it marked Monroe University's first graduation after attaining university status last summer. President Marc Jerome emphasized the momentous nature of this graduating class and noted how graduation day is a treasured occasion celebrated in the vibrant heart of New York. This year, Monroe awarded an impressive 596 Master’s degrees, alongside 1,081 Bachelor’s degrees and 1,051 Associate degrees.
