J’Maureai “Jay” Raby was taken by surprise when he triumphed at the 2025 Mr. Samford Contest, having not envisioned his success despite his impressive talent and fundraising efforts. A transfer from defunct Birmingham-Southern College, Raby cherishes the BSC memories and embraces his future at Samford, where he’s built connections and left an impact. Celebrating with fellow graduates on May 2, he proudly acknowledges his journey and the significance of the BSC stole. "BSC will always be dear to me," Raby reflected.
