Introducing Shift On Demand: Complimentary Transportation Solution for Atlanta Airport Staff

On August 14, AACIDs in collaboration with transit technology provider Via inaugurated the Shift On Demand transportation service tailored for employees of the Atlanta Airport region. This innovative service provides complimentary, on-demand rides for airport personnel residing beyond the reach of conventional transit or those whose work shifts extend beyond standard transit hours. Drop-offs are facilitated at the South Cargo area and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Employees have the flexibility to schedule trips up to a day in advance or request immediate rides via the Shift On Demand app, accessible on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. Distinct from MARTA or Cobb Linc, this service operates without a fixed schedule or designated route. According to Katie Marticke, program manager for Shift—overseeing the initiative—this service aims to alleviate transportation challenges endemic to the Atlanta Airport workforce. Launched on August 5 as part of a two-year pilot, its reach is anticipated to broaden to additional drop-off sites and service areas in the future.
