Football wide receiver Jerry Rice worked hard. He caught bricks as a youngster to perfect his skills and that propelled him to Mississippi Valley State and then to the NFL as a member of the San Francisco 49ers. That work ethic never left Rice. He could be seen catching passes in practice and sprinting to the end zone after each catch. His abilities matched his hunger for perfection. He was dominant on the field and rewrote the wide receiver record books for receptions, touchdowns and yards over his career.
