Texas HBCU Students Unite to Launch Legislative Caucus for Educational Advancement

In a pioneering move, students from Texas' nine historically Black colleges and universities have united to establish the state's inaugural HBCU Legislative Caucus, with the backing of State Representative Ron Reynolds (D-Missouri City), as reported by the Houston Defender Network. Participating institutions include Huston-Tillotson University, Jarvis Christian University, Paul Quinn College, Prairie View A&M University, Southwestern Christian College, St. Philip’s College, Texas College, Texas Southern University, and Wiley University. This bipartisan initiative aims to enhance educational prospects at HBCUs and provide students with valuable internships at the Texas Capitol.
