The Cash App dream is becoming a nightmare for Black consumers

Western Union was in our rear view mirrors and Cash App looked like it was the solution for people trying to send and receive cash as quickly as possible. No longer did we have to physically go to a market, convenience store – or worse yet a payday loan operation – and complete the paper work or pick up the red phone to send and receive money for emergencies involving a person in need of quick cash. Cash App appeared to be a nearly ideal solution to the money wiring dilemma and hundreds of millions got on board. Sure there were glitches if you tried to rescind misdirected or unintended payments, but the popular& banking alternative is currently under investigation for double charging customers for the at your finger tip transactions. Most Cash App users are aware that there is a fee for selecting the instant payment option rather than waiting the customary 48-hour period for deposits to their accounts, but earlier this week the in-app system reportedly malfunctioned and overcharged for the convenience of mobile sending.
