(Special to The Dallas Examiner) – The Trinity Chapter of The Links Incorporated proudly donated a $2,000 check to the North Texas Food Bank, which received a threefold match, resulting in a total contribution of $6,000.
In a collaborative effort, the Trinity Chapter joined forces with members of the Mid-Cities Chapter to pack 6,000 pounds of food, yielding 5,000 meals dedicated to children in need.
In November 2009, the United Nations adopted a resolution encouraging global communities to commit 67 minutes of service to commemorate the 67 years of public service rendered by President Nelson Mandela.
The theme for Nelson Mandela International Day 2025 is “It is Still in our Hands to Combat Poverty and Inequity.”
Leading the Mandela Day service initiative at the North Texas Food Bank is the International Trends and Services Facet of the Trinity Chapter. Venita Owen serves as president, while charter member Helen Giddings chairs the International Trends and Services Committee.
