Restoring Our Heritage: The Unbreakable Foundation of America's Story

Lieutenant Colonel Howard Lee Baugh, a remarkable figure and cousin of my grandfather, served in the 99th Pursuit Squadron, heralded as the inaugural unit of the esteemed Tuskegee Airmen. This month commemorates the 84th anniversary of its establishment—a poignant milestone in aviation history. To pay tribute to Baugh and his courageous compatriots, a striking life-sized bronze statue has been erected at the Black History Museum in Richmond, Virginia.
