A Chicago man asserts he was unjustly detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents during a late-night operation in his neighborhood, despite his insistence on being a U.S. citizen and providing identification. In an interview with Don Lemon, he detailed the alleged ICE “abduction,” which took place on September 29 shortly after 10:30 p.m., as agents barged into his residence after knocking. He described the officers clad in army green uniforms emblazoned with “ICE” on their backs. “They said, ‘We want you to come with us,’” he recalled. When he inquired about the reason, an agent coldly instructed him to “shut up.”With hands zip-tied, he was escorted to a truck where he joined others already inside, before being transported to the Broadview ICE facility in Chicago. Although he presented a birth certificate and other forms of ID, agents dismissed his documents. “They’re not checking IDs,” he stated. The detainment raised concerns about racial profiling and due process, prompting outrage on social media platforms.
