Mark Weatherspoon has been named dean of the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology.
Dr. Weatherspoon comes to Texas Southern University from the joint College of Engineering at Florida A&M University and Florida State University. A full professor of electrical and computer engineering, he previously served as the college’s inaugural associate dean for faculty affairs and academic innovation, associate department chair, and director of undergraduate programs in electrical and computer engineering. As a scholar, Dr. Weatherspoon focuses on modeling and simulation at the device, circuit, and system level.
Dr. Weatherspoon is a graduate of the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, where he earned his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in electrical engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of South Florida.
Gilbert Rochon has been named interim dean of the Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs.
With over three decades of higher education experience. Dr. Rochon previously served as president of Tuskegee University from 2010 to 2013.
