The Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) President, Eddy Kenzo, has spoken out about the growing competition in the music industry as more artists emerge.
“Things change. The population of artists has changed, and we are now having many of them. Music, like any other business, is competitive,” Kenzo remarked, addressing the issue of artists booking concerts on the same dates.
Kenzo emphasized that while competition is natural, communication among artists is crucial to avoid clashes.
“We cannot lock anybody outside and restrict them from holding concerts. Artists need to just communicate to each other when scheduling these concerts,” he added.

This year has been particularly challenging for musicians, with many struggling as overlapping concert dates have impacted their careers and reputations.
The situation highlights the importance of coordination in a rapidly expanding industry, where successful scheduling can significantly affect an artist’s success.
