As food prices rise and summer approaches, UNT Dallas and Cynthia Mickens Ministries are stepping up to combat North Texas food insecurity. In partnership with the North Texas Food Bank, UNT Dallas will host its next drive-thru food pantry on May 16 (9 a.m.–12 p.m.), offering free, nutritious groceries to anyone in need. In 2025 alone, the program has already served over 4,400 people. Meanwhile, Cynthia Mickens Ministries and Path-way to Life Center of Hope Church will distribute food on May 17 (11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.) in Hutchins, with limited eggs and poultry available. With nearly 1 in 6 North Texas children facing hunger, these monthly giveaways are critical lifelines. Participants can stay in their vehicles while volunteers load groceries—no registration required.
