Urban Meyer Rubbishes Coaching Rumors

While one well-known figure is not attempting to return to the sidelines, another former football coach is. Although his name has been floated as a potential replacement for current head coach Ryan Day, Urban Meyer made it clear Thursday that he has no plans to attempt to return to coaching Ohio State football. This follows last weekend’s defeat by unranked Michigan for the Buckeyes. After Michigan won and attempted to put its flag on the field, the game at Ohio Stadium turned into a full-blown melee. It was the Wolverines’ fourth consecutive defeat under Day’s direction. In a statement, Meyer stated: “It has come to my attention that there are reports speculating my return to the sidelines in Columbus,” “While I thoroughly enjoyed my seven seasons as head coach at the Ohio State University, I have no interest in coaching again.
