The United Workers Party takes this opportunity to pay tribute to this humble giant of journalism and cherished son of the soil.
In our shared country of birth, when standards mattered in fields such as broadcasting, music, politics, or journalism, David Samuels also mattered.
His audiences were huge, and Dave, as he was best known, was ever respectful of them, regardless of their questions, opinions, or obvious biases.
He was a music presenter on Radio St. Lucia, a balladeer, news presenter, producer, talk-show host, and popular emcee. He was a man of many accolades, having earned the admiration and respect of so many here and in the wider region.
He left behind two inspiring books about his life, wherein he tells his own story better than anyone else could. It was always patently clear that Dave envisioned a better society, a better Saint Lucia, and continuously strived to realize this vision through his work.
His much-loved and successful TV program, “Mr. Chairman”, regularly brought a wide and diverse range of political, economic, and societal matters to our homes.
Dave Samuels is gone, but his contributions to an envisioned better society will live on.
The United Workers Party takes this opportunity...
