Exclusive Arkansas Community: Whites-Only Group Plans Bigger Expansion

A white nationalist organization based in Arkansas has established a private, whites-only community and has ambitious plans to expand nationally, according to The Root. Formed in 2023, Return to the Land (RTTL) describes itself as a “private membership association for individuals and families with traditional views and European ancestry.” The group has developed a 160-acre enclave in the Ozarks that intentionally excludes Black individuals, Jews, LGBTQIA+ community members, and people of mixed ethnicity.Prospective members must undergo a vetting process, including a video call to confirm their ethnic identity; only white Americans are permitted. RTTL co-founder Eric Orwoll stated that the organization chose Arkansas for its affordability, natural resources, and predominantly white demographic. RTTL has grown to include hundreds of global members and intends to create similar communities in cities such as Springfield, Ohio, and regions across the Deep South, Appalachia, and the Midwest including Oklahoma, Missouri, and Illinois. While questioned about allegations of reintroducing segregation, Orwoll remarked, “Well, I mean, you don’t let everyone into your home.” RTTL asserts its operations remain within legal bounds, noting significant investments in legal research.
