Saint Lucian batter Ackeem Auguste achieved his third consecutive half-century over the weekend, yet his impressive performance was insufficient to prevent the West Indies Academy from falling to the Sri Lanka Emerging Players in their opening 50-over match. Auguste currently stands as the top run-scorer in the series, which also featured two previous four-day contests where both West Indies and Sri Lanka secured one victory each.At the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua & Barbuda, Auguste contributed 66 runs, propelling the West Indies to a total of 237 all out in 46.2 overs. The 21-year-old reached his milestone with his sixth four from his 57th ball. Despite losing three wickets for 40 runs, Auguste and Carlon Bowen-Tuckett forged an 88-run partnership, the sole significant collaboration for the home team. Bowen-Tuckett scored 55, followed by Rivaldo Clarke with 51 runs before Sri Lanka clinched victory in just 39.4 overs, with opener Nipun Dhananjaya scoring 88 and Ahan Wickramasinghe an impressive 103 off 79 balls.
