Will Howard Fulfills His Michigan Pledge ; Thrashes Ohio

Following Ohio State’s defeat by Michigan, Will Howard fulfilled his promise by thrashing Tennessee in the College Football Playoffs’ opening round to secure a meeting with Oregon. In the first round of the College Football Playoffs, Ohio State crushed Tennessee, fulfilling Will Howard’s promise made after Michigan. Howard promised they would make a deep run in the College Football Playoffs after they suffered a shocking loss to its rivals in the final regular season game, and they delivered on stage one of that promise in a big manner. Howard was nearly unstoppable in the Buckeyes’ 42–17 victory over the Volunteers, their fourth of the CFP era, as he completed 24 of 29 passes for 311 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Howard talked about the victory and what it meant to him to win for his team in an interview with ESPN following the game.
