On Monday, June 2, Dr. Moncree-Moffett, President of the Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) Board, along with fellow board members, showcased the transparency and courage the community has long desired. A proposal to promote two administrators, including an Interim Principal at Withrow High School, was presented by the superintendent. However, following extensive discussions and public input, the CPS Board chose not to approve the promotions. This choice did not reflect any doubts regarding the candidates’ qualifications; instead, it acknowledged the community's concerns regarding the principal selection process at Withrow. The Local School Decision-Making Committee (LSDMC), along with the Withrow Alumni Association, has consistently raised issues about candidate availability and interview methodologies, emphasizing that CPS Policy 9142 was not adhered to. The collective voice of the Withrow community underscores the necessity of upholding established policies and fostering a transparent, inclusive decision-making process, reinforcing the integral role of principals as community leaders.
