BLUE IVY CARTER JOINS MOM BEYONCE IN DISNEY’S ‘MUFASA: THE LION KING’

Disney has unveiled the trailer for “Mufasa: The Lion King,” a prequel to the 2019 blockbuster live-action Lion King. But what’s got everyone talking is the addition of a young star to the cast – none other than Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of the queen herself, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.
Directed by Barry Jenkins, “Mufasa” promises to delve deep into the origins of the iconic lion king. The film traces Mufasa’s journey from his cub days alongside his brother Scar, voiced by Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr. respectively.
Making her debut is newcomer Blue Ivy Carter, who steps into the role of Kiara, the daughter of Simba and Nala.
Director Jenkins didn’t hesitate when it came to casting Blue. He first discovered her undeniable talent when she lent her voice to the audiobook for Matthew A. Cherry’s “Hair Love.”
Impressed by Blue’s talent, Jenkins couldn’t resist the opportunity to have both Queen Bey and her princess share the screen, even if they’re animated lions.
