Historically Black Delaware State University has signed a memorandum of understanding with Endeavor Air to join the airline’s Students to Endeavor Pilots (STEP) program. The new initiative will provide students in the university’s professional pilot degree program with the opportunity to join the STEP program during their undergraduate education. When they have logged the required number of flight hours, students and graduates of the STEP program will receive a priority interview with Endeavor Air on-site on the Delaware State University campus. Endeavor Air is a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines and has a contractually guaranteed career pathway with the major airline, meaning Delaware State University students who are hired through Endeavor can eventually pursue a career with Delta. “This partnership is yet another jewel in the crown of the Aviation Program at DSU,” said William Charlton, director of Delaware State University’s aviation program. “ Endeavor will capitalize on this partnership to recruit talent above and below the wing, as well as in various other career destinations at their company.” The post Delaware State University Aviation Program Establishes Partnership with Endeavor Air appeared first on The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education.
