Harvard University has officially become the new host of the SlaveVoyages website, which offers an extensive database on the Atlantic slave trade's historical narrative. Originally launched in 2008 at Emory University, this project now joins Harvard & the Legacy of Slavery Initiative (H&LS). Supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities and other organizations, SlaveVoyages provides crucial insights into over 30,000 slaving vessels from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries, showcasing details on nearly 221,000 individuals involved in this grim chapter of history.
