Kayne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church is set to celebrate its 153rd Homecoming on Sunday, July 27, 2025, during the 10 a.m. service at 1025 12th Avenue South, Nashville, TN. The event will feature Bishop Mark Freeman from Charlotte, NC, as the keynote speaker. The theme for this anniversary is “God’s Faithfulness Through the Years,” which encapsulates the church's resilience in overcoming struggles while celebrating successes through unwavering faith, as noted by Executive Pastor Rev. Dr. P. Michelle Wyatt. Founded in 1872 by Reverend E.T. Jones as “The College Street Baptist Church,” the congregation has a rich history, including numerous pastoral leaders and transitions. Despite challenges, such as the fire that destroyed its original building in 1968, Kayne Avenue marks its legacy with community service and spiritual growth. Currently, led by Rev. Harmon E. Stockdale, Jr., the church remains hopeful as it searches for a new senior pastor. For further details, contact (615) 255-5528.
