Knoxville's Beck Met Gala Shatters Expectations with $25,000 Fundraise

The inaugural Beck Met Gala, organized by the Beck Cultural Exchange Center in Knoxville, was a splendid affair. Inspired by New York’s iconic event, this fundraiser celebrated Beck’s 50th anniversary with the captivating theme of Dandyism. Twenty-five distinguished Black men, aged from 18 to over 70, showcased extraordinary fashion while being accompanied by Brian Clay’s musical performance. Attendees reveled in a best-dressed competition, and the event raised over $25,000 through ticket sales and an auction featuring two exquisite Buford Delaney artworks from his private collection.
