The Government of Saint Lucia has officially signed two significant agreements with the World Food Programme (WFP) to enhance disaster readiness and bolster social protection frameworks. The Anticipatory Action Agreement and Technical Assistance Agreement were formalized at the Financial Centre. These initiatives aim to deliver prompt support to vulnerable households before disasters strike, ensuring efficient government responses. Imran Williams, Finance Director, highlighted that up to 2,000 households will benefit from cash transfers or food vouchers, with a simulation planned to assess readiness.
