Empowered Women: Preserving the Essence of Critical Black History

Soulful Journeys of Women transcends mere historical reenactments, focusing on preserving Black heritage and motivating future generations. Launched in 2022 by local educators Donnice Robinson and Tracey Wynn, the initiative showcases the profound influence of remarkable Black women like Harriet Tubman, Ida B. Wells, Madam C.J. Walker, and Sojourner Truth on American history.Wynn expresses, “Channeling Ida B. Wells feels personal, as her strength took immense courage.” With over four decades in education and performing arts, Robinson and Wynn formed their organization following a 2019 exhibition about Walker.
