Celebrate Juneteenth: Boosting Black Entrepreneurship at Eugene's Lively Festivities

Experience "Beyond 1865 — Rooted in Resilience," an invigorating Juneteenth celebration on June 19, 2025, at the Eugene Farmer’s Market Pavilion. This free, family-oriented event guarantees a delightful afternoon filled with scrumptious cuisine, interactive activities, and inspiring music, all while highlighting the rich tapestry of Eugene's Black-owned businesses. Organizer Shanaé Joyce-Stringer expressed her enthusiasm for providing these enterprises and organizations a platform to connect and engage with customers. Guests can discover offerings from 38 participating vendors, including Gem n Eye Gifts, Bracelets by Lala, and Artistic Ambush, and enjoy live performances by Stormie True and Roszelia Woods. The event will feature a dedicated children’s area and an "Elder Space," themed "Melanin Oasis," celebrating the community’s cultural heritage. Joyce-Stringer emphasized, "It's a tribute to the struggles of our elders." Juneteenth, federally recognized since 2021, commemorates the historic day in 1865 when freedom was proclaimed.
